Counseling Center Mission

Caroline Davis Intermediate  School’s Counseling Program aims to support every student within the learning environment.  Program reflects the impetus for change and the foundation to provide students and families with the tools for developing skills to manage life’s challenges.  The program promotes and facilitates academic, personal/social, and career development so that every student is encouraged to identify his/her full potential in the 21st century.

Our Counseling Program is designed to:
  • Help students develop positive attitudes towards themselves, family, and community.
  • Provide assistance to students individually and in groups so they can appreciate their own unique qualities and grow personally and socially.
  • Assist students in becoming invested in their school success by showing them how school performance relates to future opportunities.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure success socially and academically.
  • Support the instructional program and the school’s mission and goals.

There a number of services the counselor center provides in order to meet the emotional, social and academic needs of all middle school students here at Davis.  Some of these include:

  • Group Counseling
  • Individual Counseling
  • Peer Mediation/Conflict Resolution
  • Academic Support
  • Scheduling
  • Classroom Activities/Lessons
  • Referrals to outside services

Caroline Davis Intermediate School counselors developed their school counseling program based on the American School Counselors Association (ASCA) National Model.  This model recommends the majority of the school counselor’s time be spent in direct service to all students so that every student receives maximum benefits from the program.  With a focus on three domain areas: academic, career, and personal/social..
